Plato racing have completed their debut driver lineup by announcing 11 time BTCC race winner Adam Morgan will drive with them this season.
Morgan has a wealth of BTCC experience with a career in the championship spanning 14 seasons. He moves to Jason Plato’s team after a career best sixth in the drivers standings last season racing with Team Vertu. The 37 year old stood on the podium five times in 2025 after moving from West Surrey Racing’s BMW’s to Team Vertu’s Hyundai’s. Morgan now makes it three different teams and cars in three seasons with his switch to Plato Racing.
Much like his teammate Dan Rowbottom, Morgan has had experience behind the wheel of a BTCC spec Mercedes in the past. In fact, he has spent seven seasons driving a Mercedes in the championship from 2014-2020. Morgan should feel at home in his brand new Mercedes-AMG A-35 Saloon which Plato Racing have been working very hard on.
It’s also important to note that, much like Rowbottom, Morgan’s partner Cicely Commercials will be joining Adam in his switch to Plato Racing too. They specialise in Mercedes dealing and reinforce the fact that Morgan is the perfect match for Plato.
Jason Plato has managed to secure two of the BTCC’s top drivers to race for him this year and they will have their eyes set on claiming both independents championships.

We will see both Morgan and Rowbottom out at the BTCC official tests in Croft and Brands Hatch over the next few months. They will then contest the opening round of the season at Donington Park April 18th/19th
