The grid for the 2026 British GT Championship continues to take shape with a significant GT3 announcement: Ben Green is back reports Jurek Biegus from GT REPORT.

After several seasons building an international GT résumé, the 28-year-old will return to the domestic stage alongside Kevin Tse at reigning teams’ champions 2 Seas Motorsport. The trio will campaign a Mercedes-AMG GT3 as they look to convert last year’s momentum into an outright drivers’ title challenge.

Green’s British GT story has been unfinished business since he narrowly missed out on the GT4 crown in 2018 by a single point. A move to full-time GT3 machinery followed in 2019, before his career trajectory accelerated rapidly. Success in the DTM Trophy, a strong overall podium finish in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup and race wins in Asia have established him as one of Britain’s most versatile GT racers.

Now, he returns to the championship where he first made his name.

Tse, entering his third full British GT season, believes the ingredients are in place for a sustained title assault. Reflecting on 2025 – a campaign that featured two wins and a career-best third in the standings – he emphasised the importance of building on that foundation.

“It is great to be back,” said Tse. “I am more determined than ever, and we will do our very best to uphold the honour for the team after such a strong year. I had some real high points during the last season, but it is all about consistency, which will be my main focus this year.”

He also highlighted the strength of his new team-mate, adding that Green’s proven pace across multiple championships makes him a valuable addition. For Tse, the move represents both stability and progression as he continues his development in GT3 competition.

For Green, the switch to the front-engined Mercedes-AMG marks a new chapter – and a homecoming of sorts.

“I’m very excited to be partnering up with Kevin for 2026 in the 2 Seas Mercedes-AMG GT3,” he said. “Kevin has regularly been in contention, and I feel confident that together we will challenge for the title this season.”

The Briton is also relishing a return to UK circuits, having focused primarily on international programmes in recent years. “I’m also looking forward to racing in the UK, as it will be my first national championship competition since 2019. Having previously competed in British GT in both classes, I feel I have a good understanding of the championship and am well prepared to kick the season off at Silverstone.”

2 Seas Motorsport’s 2025 campaign delivered the teams’ crown in what proved to be a landmark year for the Anglo-Bahraini squad. With Tse’s points haul combining with those of last season’s championship-winning line-up, the outfit demonstrated both depth and consistency – two attributes that will be essential again in 2026.

The new season begins in earnest with British GT’s official media day at Silverstone on 31 March, before the championship opener takes place at the same venue on 25–26 April. With Green back in the paddock and Tse targeting greater consistency, the Mercedes-AMG entry is likely to start the year firmly on the shortlist of title favourites.
