This weekend brings the second round of the 2026 British F4 campaign at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit as part of the support package for the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).
After the first round of the season at Donington Park in April where all three races were won by a different driver, this weekend at Brands Hatch is sure to see some equally exciting racing.
30 drivers are set to compete this weekend, with two changes from the previous round at Donington Park. Neither Rodin Motorsport driver Ella Lloyd or Chris Dittmann Racing driver Piotr Orzechowski will be racing this weekend. Orzechowski will be replaced by Canadian driver Autumn Fisher who has been competing in the French F4 championship this year, while Rodin Motorsport will not replace Lloyd and run a three driver team.
The last time British F4 raced on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit in 2024, pole position was taken by Hitech driver Deagen Fairclough with a time of 45.245.
What are the current standings?
Currently in the lead of the standings is Belgian Mclaren Junior driver Dries Van Langendonck racing with Rodin Motorsport. Dries joined the British F4 grid for its second visit to Donington Park in 2025 where he qualified on pole position for the third race of the weekend before converting this pole position to race victory. This made him the youngest ever British F4 race winner. Dries went on the complete in the following rounds at Silverstone and Brand Hatch seeing good results. Dries will definitely be a driver to watch for the championship battle this season.

The weekend’s schedule#
Qualifying for British F4 will take place on Saturday 9 May at 09:45. This year sees a revised qualifying session due to the short length of the track at only 1.2 miles and large size of this year’s grid.
This weekend drivers will be split into two groups for qualifying, with each getting a 15 minute session. Pole position for race 1 (Sat 9 May, 16:10) is determined by second-fastest time. Pole position will be awarded to the driver with the fastest second-fastest time overall in qualifying from either group. After which the grid order will split along session lines. Drivers from the same group as the outright pole-sitter will occupy the odd-numbered grid slots, while the fastest driver from the other session will line up alongside on the front row with the remainder of the sessions drivers filling the even-numbered positions.
For the reverse grid race (Sun 10 May, 12:10) the driver who lands 12th overall in that shuffle will be on pole position for race two.
While for the longer feature race (Sun 10 May, 16:35) the same format will be used as race one, this time using the overall fastest time for all drivers.
