EnduroKa headed to the hills of Lincolnshire as they took on 6hrs of Ka-dwell park. Dubbed the mini-Nurburgring the hilly circuit would prove a challenge for drivers as they completed in their MK1 Ford KAs for the illustrious podium places in the championships second round.
Qualifying
Qualifying would start in chaotic fashion as two spins and a stricken #297 would cause a red flag just 7 minutes into qualifying. The rest of the session would run fairly cleanly with the #131 Ka-tastrophy setting the early pace still topping the timings with 20 minutes to go. Despite a spin from the #49 LDR Performance Tuning with 5 minutes remaining there would be no further cautions as Ka-tastrophy took pole for the afternoons headline event setting a 1:54:336 followed closely by #46 MilnAir and #3 Windgat Racing.
Race
A clean start from the entire pack allowed for early moves from MilnAir, Kaston and Burton Power giving the #64 an early lead.
However, Burton’s early moves wouldn’t do them many favours as a breakdown early on put them out of the race just 35 minutes in. A safety car bunched the pack up before racing resumed.
At the end of the first hour, both the #64 MilnAir and the #23 Kaston Martin pit together coming out exactly as they went in. However, the Kaston managed to make a move on the MilnAir to put itself into 2nd place pulling a sizeable gap on the yellow and purple machine.
#3 Windgat would finish the hour in front, Ka-motion followed closely less than a second behind, whilst MilnAir and Ka Bridge battled for third.
 The second hour started with a bang as the #180 of team shine took spin into the barrier, luckily the car wouldn’t sustain more than cosmetic damage and would be back on track within seconds.
Ka Motion, who had made considerable progress starting from eighth ,would continue to climb the order due to efficiency both from the drivers and pit crew alike. MilnAir would also remain consistent and continue to be at the sharp end of the field as pit stops cycled through.
Windgat and MilnAir would spend a considerable chunk of the hour trading places with each other, both cars making Impressive moves at the top end of the track.
Heading into the third hour trading places would turn into trading paint as Windgat and MilnAir came to blows, once again nothing more than cosmetic as the two carried on battling.
As pit cycles reshuffled the field Ka Motion, Windgat Racing, MilnAir Racing and Ka Tastrophy would all spend a considerable amount of time in the lead as Kaston Martin and #64 AutoTech quietly moved up the pack.
Hour 4 would bring along a bizarre few laps as the #81 GM Performance broke down, the safety car and recovery vehicle were deployed, what should be a relatively short safety car period was lengthened as the tow strap snapped off leaving the car to roll down The Mountain.
As this was quickly rectified another issue occurred as it was discovered the safety car had picked up the wrong group of cars. It was took a while for everyone to sort themselves out but eventually the safety was allowed back in and the MilnAir lead the pack off again.
The final couple of hours saw more safety cars and a lot more pit cycles as all three podium spots were still up for contention. It would also spell disaster for Windgat as a 2 lap penalty for a refueling infringement would put them down to 11th where they would remain for the rest of the race.
The final hour however would prove the most exciting as the #131 Ka-tastrophy team were met with several penalties, they didn’t let this stop them however as they battled back to put themselves right behind Kaston Martin. The green #23 machine had been quietly making its way up through the field the entire field running it’s own clean and steady race.
The two Ford KAs battled for a number of laps trading positions multiple times, eventually it would be the Ka-tastrophy moving up into 2nd and looking to hunt down the leaders until another penalty seemed to destroy any chances of a podium.
This Kaston Martin in a healthy second but that wasn’t enough for the F1 parody outfit, they had their eyes on the top step and they sure were ready to fight for it.
Over the last 30 minutes they would make up an incredible amount of time on the MilnAir car, at one point lapping over 11 seconds per lap faster. With every lap that passed the gap lessened and with 10 minutes to go it was down to 30 seconds, all eyes were on the timing screens.
The race would go down to the final lap where despite bringing the gap down to less than 10 seconds the Kaston would get caught in traffic, allowing the MilnAir to take the Chequered flag.Â
Remarkably the Ka-tastrophy was able to overcome their most recent penalty and return to the third podium position.Â
The Ka-dwell round of the 2026 Enduroka championship brought 169 laps of action and a seriously strong competition, the series next heads over to the coast of Wales for their biggest event of the season the Ynys Mon 24 on August 1st and 2nd at Anglesey Circuit.
