Pascal Wehrlein is the Season 12 Formula E champion after a thrilling finale at the London E-Prix, becoming a double champion in the series.
The Porsche driver had a late skirmish with Joel Eriksson and title rival Jake Dennis, which saw the pair drop out of the points, ultimately handing the German the title.
DS Penske driver Taylor Barnard was the winner of the final race of the season at the ExCeL London, becoming the youngest race winner in Formula E history.
Pole-sitter Nyck de Vries got off the line well and maintained his lead after the first lap.
Championship challenger Jake Dennis would have been hoping for a better start as he dropped from 16th to 17th at the start. Crucially for Wehrlein, he kept his third place behind the two Mahindras.
Lucas di Grassi was handed a 10-second stop-go penalty in his final race before things went from bad to worse on lap 14, when his career ended with a car failure.
Jaguar’s António Félix da Costa was one of the first to use Attack Mode as the team searched for team championship glory. He made quick work of Müller and later Wehrlein.
The battle at the front of the field continued up until the halfway point in the race. As the race entered its final 10 laps, Dennis began to climb up the grid for one final push for the title.
On lap 28, da Costa forced Wehrlein wide in their battle, dropping the pair down the field and dramatically putting Dennis ahead. The Brit soon climbed to seventh and, as things stood, would be crowned champion.
Four laps later, Wehrlein and Dennis were side-by-side before dramatically being halted after contact with Eriksson ahead, dropping all three down the pack.
In amongst the chaos, Taylor Barnard made a move on the leading Nyck de Vries to take the home victory and the final Formula E win at the ExCeL.
Further back, Wehrlein limped to the line after another coming together with da Costa to take his second Formula E title.
Da Costa’s defensive work payed off as he helped his Jaguar TCS Racing team secure the Team Championship.
Formula E now says goodbye to the Gen3 era, with Gen4 making its debut as the new season gets underway on December 18 for the Series 13 opener in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
