The iconic British circuit of Brands Hatch, located just outside the London perimeter, has been named the new home of Formula E’s annual London E-Prix.
The announcement came as part of the series unveiling a record-breaking 21-race calendar for its new Gen4 era.
The previous host of the event was the ExCeL Centre in the heart of the British capital, but the circuit, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, will now become the home of Formula E’s London round.
It will mark the first time in decades that a major international single-seater championship has raced at Brands Hatch.
The London E-Prix has provisionally been scheduled as rounds 12 and 13 of the championship, with an action-packed double-header weekend planned for 29–30 May.
The switch is expected to be welcomed by many fans, with Brands Hatch’s natural elevation changes and flowing layout offering a stark contrast to the tight confines of the ExCeL circuit.
