The second half of the EnduroKa season kicked off at Donington Park as a full grid prepared to take on the East Midlands circuit.
Qualifying
Qualifying would start bright and early at 9:30am, whilst Jack Wright would take the #46 Milnair pole with an impressive 1:34.477, the biggest story from this session would be the fact that 13 of the 35 finished within a single second of each other. Second on the grid would go to the #131 Ka-tastrophy as Adam Bonham almost equaled Wrights time with a 1:34:479, British Touring Car champ Tom Ingram followed closely behind in the #49 LDR Performance KA.
Race
MilnAir kept their lead going into Redgate with the #555 Sukaru and #49 LDR Performance hot on the heels of the yellow and purple machine. Further down the field the #3 Windgat Racing and #333 Kahoonas faced off whilst the #1 Burton Power kept itself close to the action ready to pounce. The Chickspeed entry, making their return after missing Anglessey, dipped a couple wheels in the grass but managed to hold onto their position.
The dogfight between the top three waged on into Mcleans as the Sukaru passed Milnair to take the lead. However the ever confident Milnair car was able to regain their position through the Esses the #49 capitalising on a compromised Suakru to take second. The race never settled with the top three swapping positions and battling it out, hard racing but fair racing, this was until Ingram took the lead into turn one, the Sukaru following closely.
One hour in and the Milnair was back in the lead, meanwhile both the LDR and Sukaru KAs had dropped down the order as pit stops came into play. Windgat had put themselves up to third whilst the #12 Pro-am car would hold fifth.
At the halfway point it would still be Milnair in the lead, George Wright having set a fastest lap, Windgat and Kahoonas would occupy the rest of the podium places.
Milnair would, as they have most of the season, hold a steady lead for the rest of the race as pitstops switched the field around, and with just an hour to go they were still comfortably in the lead. Although their competitors had started to catch up with Windgat in 2nd whilst the #23 Kaston Martin had made up considerable ground now in 3rd place. Earlier top step contenders Sukaru and LDR would both make their way back into the top five, setting up a thrilling final hour.
As the chequered flag fell it would be Milnair taking their third race win in a row with LDR Performance and Ka Tashtrophy rounding out the podium. On top of their on track success Milnair would also take home the Dagenham Dustbin award for the best presented car.
EnduroKa is back in action on September 26th for their trip to Oulton Park with five hours around the international circuit as the championship starts to draw to a close.
