Formula 1 is back this weekend following a short layoff after the Miami Grand Prix, with the sport heading to Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix weekend.

After an enforced hiatus due to the cancellation of both the Bahraini and Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, the F1 circus has treated fans with back-to-back sprint weekends at Miami and now Montreal.

Here is a rundown of the British drivers’ form heading into this weekend.

Lando Norris

The reigning world champion comes into the weekend off the back of a much stronger showing in Miami. A second-place finish on race day and a sprint victory gave Lando a much-needed points haul after playing catchup in the seasons opening stages.

McLaren on the whole look far more competitive which will aid Norris in his venture to get his title defence back on track, the Brit currently sits fourth a steep 49 points behind championship leader Kimi Antonelli.

A repeat of last year’s Grand Prix is not an option for Norris, who tangled with teammate Oscar Piastri in what turned to be a key moment in last season’s championship dynamic. Lando must build on his upturn in form from Miami if he wants any hopes of retaining his world championship.

George Russell

It was a disappointing weekend last time round for Russell, who only mustered a fourth-place finish in both the sprint and on race day. This continues a shaky run of form for Russell who has looked nervy at times this season.

George started the season in flying form with a mighty showing in the opening round of the season but ever since, Mercedes teammate Antonelli has had the better of Russell the young Italian winning the past four races and leading Russell by 19 points in the standings.

It feels almost a must-win race for Russell in order to turn the tide against his hotshot teammate in the fight for the world title.

Lewis Hamilton

It was a disappointing weekend for Ferrari in Miami as a whole and Hamilton was much the more fortunate of the two in terms of finishing position with a mere sixth-place finish in a car many touted as having title potential.

There is a bright side for Lewis heading to Montreal, the seven-time world champion has also won the Canadian Grand Prix a record-equalling seven times most recent of which being his win in 2019.

The wider pace of the Ferrari car is an unknown after Miami so whether Lewis has the car to compete may be his limiting factor in having a much-needed solid weekend of points.

Oliver Bearman

Bearman came into 2026 as a highly touted prospect and his delivery so far for the HAAS team has been much to that mark. With seventeen points to his name coming into Montreal, Bearman will be looking to carry on his solid start.

A heavy crash in Japan followed by narrowly missing out on points in Miami, Bearman will be looking to make good use of his HAAS package which has been one of the stronger midfield outfits so far this campaign.

Bearman finished last year’s Grand Prix in eleventh place and points will be well up for grabs this coming weekend. A good run of points could well strengthen Bearman’s prospects for a future drive at Ferrari, with whom he has been heavily linked.

Arvid Linblad

Linblad has enjoyed a steady start to his Formula 1 career with points on debut and some flashes of really strong potential in his early career.

A new track for Linblad awaits in Montreal with the rookie yet to experience the high-octane nature of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve which could prove a challenge come race day.

The young Brit will be hoping to increase his points tally for the season and prove his worth even further in a solid midfield VCARB car.
