The ZYN British Superbike Championship arrives at Cadwell Park this weekend for the last ‘main season’ round before ‘The Showdown’ rounds begin at Assen, Donington and the season finale at Brands Hatch.
Reigning world champion Kyle Ryde will be hoping for another strong performance to extend his championship lead over former MotoGP rider Scott Redding, who will be looking for a better weekend than Thruxton after contact in race three with Jason O’Halloran.
Last time out, Ryan Vickers took victory in two of the three races at Thruxton, while Ryde took the other 18 points to extend his championship advantage, also finishing fourth and third in races two and three of the weekend.
Yamaha’s Bradley Ray had a solid weekend last time out with two podiums and a fourth-place finish, who looks to make gains and re-join the title fight, with the number 28 being just under 100 points behind Ryde in the championship.
Fourth place in the championship currently belongs to Leon Haslam on the number 91 Moto Rapido Racing bike, despite not winning this season, Haslam has scored consistently and not made many errors which is why he is still in the championship battle in these last few rounds of the season.
Watch out for Ryan Vickers who is in fine form after winning two of the last three races as mentioned before. In the standings, the Honda rider currently sits fifth with 199 points. He only has three DNF’S (did not finish) to his name this season so scoring points has been consistent for the number seven.
